Fenchurch Street, London

Store fit out

This scheme involved the redevelopment of the former Barclays Bank headquarters site on the corner of Gracechurch Street and Fenchurch Street in the City of London. The result is a mixed use, retail / commercial scheme where M&S opened a flagship store which acted as an anchor unit to the retail district of Leadenhall Market.

With a site area of just under one acre, the scheme optimised the potential within planning, right of light and covenant restraints to achieve maximum retail and office useable areas. The gross area of the building was 330,000 sq ft over 13 floors including 4 floors below ground level. The scheme used a complex top down construction technique to form the basement levels.

Bruceshaw were involved in the Shell and Core, Cat A office fit out, retail fit out and subsequent property disposal of the freehold by Marks and Spencer plc.
