John Lewis opens in White City, Westfield
Bruceshaw performed the cost consultancy for John Lewis in White City, Westfield, which opened on 20th March 2018. The project was a fit-out of White City John Lewis unit, as anchor tenant, which was part of the extension to the existing shopping centre and John Lewis PLC.
In collaboration with Brooker Flynn Architects, the 230,000ft2 project was completed in 27 weeks. Bruceshaw provided Cost Management services which included cost estimating, tendering the scheme, negotiating the contract sum, drafting the contract, post contract administration and agreement of the final account by practical completion.
Simon Clapham, Development Programme Manager at John Lewis said:
‘It was a pleasure to work with Bruceshaw as they brought significant value to the John Lewis White City, Westfield project. They provided accurate and timely advice and the service levels I experienced exceeded expectations. I look forward to working with them again’.
Interestingly, this project was the largest single unit fit-out delivered in 2017/2018. The project was completed and opened in time with the rest of the Westfield extension.
Conor Kelly, Associate at Bruceshaw said:
‘This was a fantastic high-profile project for Bruceshaw to work on as John Lewis is one of the best-known brands in retail for their quality as well as new and interesting concepts’.
