Mark is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and a qualified Civil Engineering Commercial Manager with over 23 years experience working for Clients and Contractors in Quantity Surveying/Cost Management and Construction Procurement on a broad range of major civil engineering and building projects. He is responsible for Bruce Shaw’s Civils Division and has provided commercial management services for many of Ireland’s major infrastructure projects including the Dublin Port Tunnel, the M1 Motorway and Metro North.

Since 2005, Mark and his team at Bruce Shaw have been providing commercial management services to the National Roads Authority under a 5 year single operator framework. Following an international competition, the team has recently been reappointed by the National Roads Authority for a further 3 years. Bruce Shaw’s Civils Division are also providing support to Roads Service Northern Ireland as part of the URS Scott Wilson team. 

The Civils Division also provides a full claims and disputes support service to both Employers and Contractors and has provided expert quantum support for two of the most significant disputes seen in Ireland in recent years. Mark and his team are currently providing post contract claims management services on a number of major engineering contracts.

Mark and his team are currently involved in a broad range of projects both in Ireland and overseas including the roll-out of the NRA Service Areas. Recent major projects experience includes the Cork South Docklands Masterplan, Clonburris and Spencer Dock Infrastructure and the Irish Rail Cuttings and Embankments programme.
