Hewlett Packard Wynard Data Centre Wins International Green Apple Award

The Hewlett Packard Wynyard Data Centre, located in the North East of England, has just won the International Green Apple Award in Gold   2011 in the category 'Environmental Best Practice' .

Bruce Shaw were appointed as Project Managers and Cost Managers and worked as an integral part of the Client and Design Team to achieve the Award Winning Project Environmental Objectives.

The Wynyard Data Centre is the first of its size and scale to be cooled almost entirely by external air.  This innovation has led to carbon reduction, cost savings, reduced environmental impact and improved IT utilization.  The innovative design of Wynyard was created with the aim of reducing costs and minimizing environmental impact.

'The Green Apple Awards for Environmental Best Practice' was The Green Organisation's first initiative when it launched in 1994.  The awards are presented to recognise, reward and promote environmental best practice around the world.
