Our Role: Cost Management |
The redevelopment of the M&S Store in Donegall Place, Belfast included the extension of the existing retail floor space at both 1st and 2nd floor level requiring the demolition of substantial bank vaults and strong rooms. The store redevelopment also included the remodel of the entire existing sales floor including provision of a new Café facility, complete replacement of the M&E services and replacement of the facades to both Donegall Place and Calender Street. The works were particularly complex because of the structural design of the existing building. The demolition and alteration works required piling within the existing foodhall in the basement of the store and the erection of new structure up through the existing occupied basement, ground and first floors. The entire project was completed in 35 weeks during which the store continued to trade. The contractor working 24 hrs a day and 7 days a week. |
